This charming, 1920s, Victorian-style home is located in the highly desirable and historic Harbour town neighborhood of Vermilion. Harbour town is in the heart of Vermilion, but also the heart of Northern Ohio's, Lake Erie Vacationland. This home is about a 10 minute walk (4 minute bike ride) to the beach-- a delightful route through the quiet neighborhood and downtown Vermilion where you will pass two parks and many downtown restaurants, bars, and shops. You are close to Lake Erie, the Vermilion River, boat launches, municipal docks, fishing charters, boat/jetski/kayak/paddleboard rentals, river cruises, wineries, parks, golf courses and many more Northern Ohio beaches! Only 25 minutes or less from Cedar Point, Kalahari, Soak City, Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay, and Cedar Point Sports Center! Only 40 minutes from downtown Cleveland! 23 minutes from Thomas Edison's Birthplace in quaint Milan, OH. The possibilities are endless! This neighborhood, nestled along the Vermilion river is historically where the earliest settlers of the Vermilion Village took root in the early 1800s. It was in Harbour town that the early families of Vermilion lived-- the same families that fueled the golden era of the shipbuilding and fishing industries of Vermilion during the 1800s and early 1900s. The Airbnb's area of Harbortown is historically where many fish shanties and the homes of town fisherman once stood. This century home is also listed on the Vermilion Historic Register.
Guest Access
This vacation home is a duplex, and in the top unit is a quiet, long term tenant. The duplex is set up to where you will have completely private and segregated access to the front porch and entire first floor via the front door. The top tenant has access to the top unit only through a stairwell on the side of the house and does not have a key or password to the Airbnb. The tenant will occasionally do laundry in the separate, outdoor access basement as well. Your free parking is the whole driveway along the entire right side of the house. There is room for 4 cars, OR a car and a boat! This driveway is shared with the house next door but we own about 2/3rds of it so don't worry too much about snugging up your car right against the house. The quiet, long term tenant parks in front of the house all the way to the left.

Other Details to Note
We listed the amount this Airbnb can sleep as 7, however, there is also a trundle bed underneath the bunk bed, as well as a pull-out single sleeper in the master bedroom that folds up like a chair. These would be comfortable for a small child but not practical for an adult, which is why we kept the sleep count at 7. However, if you are booking with many kids, the sleep count could be increased to 9 if the two sleeping in these beds were small children.

Life in Harbor town as well as Vermilion is like most small towns, peaceful and slower-paced. Getting around is easy by walking, biking, or driving, and you will find little to no traffic. Street parking is also ample.
